Hello wonderful pals of DA. A few things I thought I'd post, since I'll be preoccupado for un momentito...
Today I got a commission to work on a logo - exciting stuff! Hope to have something cool to add to my portfolio on that end soon. I'll be working on a small logo, maybe a banner version, and a twitter landing page for a gaming company that's being launcher soon, so that will take up a lot of my spare time.
School is INSANE this semester - I have a 20 page paper due in the end of April that needs a lot of work. Then there's the 10 page paper I've not even begun. I might not contribute as often as I had hoped until a few major things get done with school for the spring semester. Not sure if I'll be going to school in the summer yet, but I should be able to spend a lot of spare time doing Android things then.
This weekend I'll be working on the logo project, a port for a GoLocker to MIUI ls, and a custom bootscreen animation for Mr.Rick of XDA...in addition to reading about 50 journals on white collar crime and social deviance. So the purple and chrome MIUI theme is officially on the back burner until I catch up with my big paper. SO CLOSE to being done with it, so its all the more difficult to temporarily abandon it (particularly in light of the increasingly short life span of MIUI Gingerbread as they prepare for ICS). I did hear some promising things about ICS/MIUI 4 dev on my phone, which put me in a fabulous mood.
After I get caught up, I'd like to move from MIUI to a project(s) that's geared more toward all Android users. I hear good things from another DA pal on Go Launcher customization without the dev tools, so I might try my hand at that. Bootanimations are fun, but I'm not sure I was meant to design in animation lol - REALLY painstaking business.
I need to figure out how to set up ADB and Eclipse environment because...I have an idea for an app. Who knows if I'll ever get around to it, but I'd like to at least stick my toe in the development river before I lose my nerve.
My website received over 1500 hits in a day earlier this week thanks to the Press It Icons being written up on multiple android blogs, which was thrilling. I will post there in addition to here my offer of more tutorials, which I haven't written in a while and seemed pretty helpful to people starting out with Android. Any ideas? xoxo, M
